The Law of the Five Elements

Understanding human health and behaviour using the framework of these elemental energies.

Bio of Clair Taylor Powell, Spirit-Level Navigatrix and Mentor

I was born near Worthing, West Sussex on 3 July 1962, delivered by my father in my parent’s bed. Ma and Pa were both GPs and their hard work and self-sacrifice enabled me to benefit from an excellent education at Our Lady of Sion girls’ school.  I broke ranks at 16 and studied ‘A’ levels at the local co-ed Sixth Form College.  It was here that I embraced the freedom to experiment with expressing my truth, most noticeably by embracing the Punk culture and leaving full-time education at 18.  I worked in an accounts department for 18 months before the desire for adventure and challenge led me to join the Royal Air Force, where I spent 17 years as an Air Traffic Controller and 7 years delivering and re-designing initial officer training. By the age of 45, I had done everything that interested and excited me so I retired.  I then found ways to express the latent other ‘real’ me through the study of fascinating and diverse subjects such as Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Traditional Acupuncture, Eastern philosophies such as Daoism and Buddhism, the Colour Mirrors system, sound healing with tuning forks, shamanic journeying, sacred geometry and astrology.  I continue to develop my psychic and channelling abilities and am enjoying a sense of profound connection with Source and a greater harmonisation with the flow of Universal energy than ever before.  I feel called upon to share the knowledge and wisdom accrued over the last 55 years on this planet and take great delight in doing this through my work in clinic and spiritual coaching.

The Law of the Five Elements

02 April 2018

Tuesday 19th June 2018

Guest Speaker: Clair Taylor Powell, Spirit-Level Navigatrix and Mentor

The five elements of Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water, give us a framework to characterize all observable phenomena and understand the laws governing nature’s dynamic process of change.  Five element theory was fully developed by Zou Yen in about 350 BCE, although references to similar theories relating to the five elements are found in records of the Shang dynasty (1766-1122 BCE.). The elements themselves are not meant to be viewed as fixed, but rather eternal dynamic movements that continually transform into each other, as the seasons do.  When these five elements manifest within us in a balanced and harmonious state, we experience health, wellbeing and the joy of being alive. When any of them fall out of balance, the ordered harmony is disrupted and symptoms of ill-health appear, on any or all of the levels of body, mind and spirit.  When we understand how the elements govern our behaviour, emotions and physical health, we have the ability to become masters of our internal landscape.
