Six Phases, Eight Elements - De-mystifying the prevention of and recovery from ME CFS and Fibromyalgia

Full recovery is absolutely possible!  I am living proof of that and I have now expanded my therapy work to include supporting others to do the same. I work alongside The Chrysalis Effect On-line Recovery Programme: an evidence based, holistic approach to identifying and removing the many symptoms associated with these chronic exhaustive conditions. It’s an exciting time to be part of this hugely needed work as The Chrysalis Effect has just begun its first pilot within the NHS and is training GPs and other health practitioners to recognise and piece together the early warning signs.

Throughout this talk I will tell you a little of my story, explain some facts about these conditions that you may not yet know, describe the six phases of them and the eight elements, or areas, of life that must all be addressed in order to achieve full recovery. I will also describe how I work with people who are in complete overwhelm or burn-out, to prevent the potential “crash” that can lead on to one of the above conditions and with those who have a diagnosis and need a clear map, and lots of support, to fully recover.

JILL O'KEEFFE

Having been a Registered General Nurse for 30 years and a Clinical Hypnotherapist for four years, I have a profound interest in the health of my clients on a physical, mental, emotional and spiritual level.

I am a qualified Well-being Coach with the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) and an accredited Specialist Practitioner with the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT). As well as Well-being Coaching and Hypnotherapy I use NLP (Neuro-linguistic Programming), EMDR (Eye Movement De-sensitisation and Re-programming) and Reiki, where appropriate, to help people who have ME/CFS or Fibromyalgia towards full recovery.

I’m so grateful to say that I rarely give energy to the things I had to give up when I became ill with ME; the losses I felt. So much healing has taken place. I have experienced so much support and kindness from family, friends, colleagues and The Chrysalis Effect. I have now moved on, but I do acknowledge those losses at times. They remind me of how far I have come since I battled to continue working as a Nursing Sister in a hospice, and eventually had to give up my career; since I had to stop the many sporting activities I loved doing with my family; since days out and holidays revolved around how much I could do or how far I could walk.

After five years of this I was trying to find a way to break out of the cycle of unwanted symptoms and restrictions and I had made some progress. But when The Chrysalis Effect came to my attention, in a very serendipitous way, I immediately knew that this was the key to my full recovery; not just symptom management. It spoke to me on a level that I had not found before and helped me see the connection between the many symptoms I was experiencing – no one else had ever been able to do that.

Since then I have not looked back. I believe in this programme so much that I trained to become one of its Specialist Practitioners, greatly enhancing the work I was already doing. Through my own experience (both personal and professional) and the knowledge acquired during and since my training, I offer packages of care to guide my clients and work alongside them as they chip away at the aspects of their life experience that brought them to their own, personal tipping point. This enables them to progress through the six phases of the illness and learn how to reach full recovery and optimum well-being, giving them their life back.

There are usually many contributing factors to the development of ME/CFS and Fibromyalgia. So I work in a totally holistic way, acknowledging the mind/body/spirit connection and how one can affect the other. I lead a team of practitioners and together we identify exactly where a client is in the phases of recovery, systematically addressing all eight key areas to release their symptoms.

If you, or someone you know, has an ME/CFS/Fibromyalgia diagnosis or you are suffering the effects of complete overwhelm I can be contacted at clearwaywellbeing@gmail.com, or on 07823 495729.

Harnessing the Miraculous Power of Group Intention - the Power of Eight

15 November 2018

Sunday 24th February 2019 - One Day Workshop

Workshop Facilitator: Stella Brookes, BRCP

This workshop has been arranged following Stella's very successful January talk to our group.

The Power of Eight is the work of Lynne McTaggart - an expert on the science of spirituality who, over the course of 10 years, has discovered the  immense and extraordinary human capacity we all have for healing, using the miraculous power of group intention.

When individuals in a group focus their intention together on a single target, a powerful collective dynamic emerges that can heal long-standing conditions, mend fractured relationships, lower violence and even rekindle life purpose.

Those of you who attended January’s talk witnessed first-hand the power and connection of the group dynamic.

Stella will be teaching us the techniques and structure needed to participate, hold and develop your own Power of Eight workshops.

Science now understands that any intention has a mirror effect, not only transforming the recipient but also reflecting back on the senders.

So whether you just want to participate in a group, or actually run your own group with friends and family, this workshop is packed with the information you need to do this to maximum effect.

Stella will provide the tools not only to understand, manage and maintain your own energy but to harness the collective energies of the Power of Eight and unleash the power you hold inside of you to heal your own life - and the world around you

Venue: Solihull Women's Institute, 745 Warwick Rd, Solihull B91 3DQ

Time: 10.30 am to 3.30 pm (approx)

Cost : £40 email jacqui.mexson@virginmedia.com, or phone or text 07766 601277 to reserve your place and get payment details
