The Children's Fire

Tuesday 18th February 2020

Guest Speaker: Mac Macartney, Author, Activist and  International Speaker

Many hundreds of years ago the story and teaching of The Children’s Fire  emerged from the indigenous people of North America as a message to all those who flirt with power.  The Children's Fire was a small fire that burnt in the centre of the council of chiefs reminding them of the first law, the first promise:

'No law, no decision, no action of any kind, will be permitted to go out from this council of chiefs that will harm the children'.

In this talk Mac Macartney shares how he came to pledge allegiance to the Children’s Fire and accept the challenge of his indigenous mentors to unfold the story of who we once were as a people, in these islands.  Mac speaks of hope, belonging, and homecoming.

Venue: Oliver Bird Hall, Church Hill Road, Solihull, B91 3RQ

Time:   Doors open 7pm with refreshments served until talk commences at 7.45pm

Cost: £5 Members/£8 Visitors
